The best way I (talontsi07) would say to find your device is to go "ctrl F" (Find) since denco7 and I are still adding to this page and we will organize everything after we have added all HTC devices


Hard Reset For HTC 3G ( Jade )

To perform a hard reset
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons "aka the center button" , then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press Volume Up to reset to manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
4. Release the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset. 5. After restore completed press VOLUME UP again to restart the device.

For HTC TyNT / TyNT II ( Tilt ,Kaiser, Hermes )

To perform a hard reset
1. Depress two soft keys and hold ( see photo )
2. While depressing soft keys , insert tip of stylus into hole above and to the right of the charger/usb port.
3. Push stylus in and hold, until keylights blink and message appears on white screen , telling you you are about to delete all your data.
4. Follow screen instructions.



For HTC Diamond

To perform a hard reset
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons "aka the center button" , then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
4. Release the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
5. And Remember ,This operation will delete all your personal data and reset all settings to manufacturer default.
Press VolUp to reset to manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.

For HTC Tornado (Cingular 2125)

To perform a hard reset
1. Depress and hold two soft keys under display screen
2. While holding down two soft keys, press side power button for a second.
3. After several seconds, the screen will display prompts telling you to press " 0 " to proceed with Hard Reset.




For the Google G1 ( HTC Dream)

To perform a hard reset
1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle. Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L. 4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset. 5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds. The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.


For the HTC Touch Cruise ( Iolite )

To perform a hard reset:
1. Power off your device.
2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER (circular one) buttons, and then press the POWER button (warning message appears).
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.


For the HTC Touch (Vogue, Elf)

To perform a soft reset

1. All you need to do is push the reset button with the stylus on the bottom of the device

To perform a hard reset

1. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen: This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press the Action button to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
   

For the HTC Touch Dual

To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the left side of your device.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until warning screen
3. Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on your device.




For the HTC Touch P3600 (Trinity)

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and the Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom center part of your device.

2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two soft key buttons. Release them only when you see the following message on your device screen: “Press SEND to restore factory default, press END to quit.“

3.Press on your device.





For the HTC Vox (Vodafone VDA V,Vodafone v1415,Dopod C500, Orange SPV E650,HTC S710 / S711)

To perform a hard reset
Turn off your phone, then press both *SOFT KEYS* and *POWER ON* device. After moment release both soft keys. On the black screen asking for confirmation press *GREEN PHONE BUTTON* and wait couple minutes



For the HTC Artemis (Orange M650, HTC P3301, Dopod P800, O2 XDA Orbit, Dopod P800W, T-Mobile MDA Compact III, HTC P3300)

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and the Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the lower left side of your device.

2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two soft key buttons. Release them only when you see the following message on your device screen: “Press Send to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.“

3.Press on your device. Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.





For the HTC Athena (O2 XDA Flint, T-Mobile Ameo 16GB, HTC Advantage X7510, HTC Advantage X7501, T-Mobile MDA Ameo, Dopod U1000, HTC Advantage X7500)

To perform a hard reset
1. Slide the Volume slider down and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the back of your device.
2. After a brief period of time, two choices will appear on-screen. Press the CENTER OK button to perform the hard reset.
Note If you do not want to perform a hard reset, press the CAMERA button to exit.
3. Press the POWER button.


For the HTC Libra (Verizon SMT5800 / XV5800, Bell HTC 5800, HTC 5800, HTC S720)

To perform a hard reset
1.Turn you phone off.
2.Press and hold the two softmeny buttons (those 2 placed to the left and right direct under the display) while you press on/off button for about 0.5 seconds. 3.Make sure you still have the soft buttons pressed when release the on/off button.
4.After a few seconds a text will appear in the display telling you to press "0" (zero) to make an hard reset.


For the HTC Gene (HTC P3401, HTC P3400, Dopod D600)

To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold the left SOFT KEY and the right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two SOFT KEYs until you see the following message on the screen:

To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold both the left SOFT KEY and the right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two SOFT KEYs until you see instructions on the screen.
3. Release the two SOFT KEYs, and then press the TALK (Green) button on your device if you would like to continue the hard reset.

For the HTC Herald (HTC P4351, T-Mobile Wing US, O2 XDA Terra, Vodafone VPA Compact IV, HTC P4350, Dopod C800 / C858)

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the left SOFT KEY and the right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the middle left side of your device.
2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two SOFT KEYs until you see the following message on the screen: This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press Send to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
3.Release the two SOFT KEYs, and then press the button on your device. Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.



For the HTC Quartz (HTC MAX 4G T8290)

To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:

4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.


For the HTC Excalibur (HTC S620, Orange SPV E600, T-Mobile MDA Mail, Dopod C720W, O2 XDA Cosmo, T-Mobile Dash, HTC S620)

To perform a hard reset
1.PRESS AND HOLD BOTH SOFT KEYS.
2. WHILE HOLDING DOWN SOFT KEYS, PRESS AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON, WAIT 3-5 SEC. (PHONE SHOULD POWER ITSELF ON BY DOING THIS)


For the HTC Pharos (HTC P3470)

To perform a hard reset
1.Remove the back cover.
2.Press and hold the SOFT keys, then use the stylus to press the RESET button, located below the battery compartment.
3.Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the SOFT keys until you see this message on the screen.
4.Release the SOFT keys, then press TALK/SEND to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.




For the HTC Love (HTC P3350)

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and the Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the lower left side of your device.
2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two soft key buttons. Release them only when you see the following message on your device screen: “Press Send to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.“
3.Press on your device. Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.




For the HTC Titan (Verizon XV6800 | Bell HTC 6800 | Sprint Mogul PPC-6800 | HTC P4000)

To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the left soft key and the right soft key simultaneously.
2.While holding the left and right soft keys, use the stylus to gently press and release the reset button.
3.When prompted, press the R key on the QWERTY keypad to reset the device.
4.When prompted, press Space on the QWERTY keypad to restart the device.








For the HTC Oxygen (HTC S310)

To perform a hard reset
1.When the mobile is off, push simultaneously both applications buttons and power button, then release power button but not the both applications buttons. Follow screen's instructions


For the HTC Monet (HTC S320 | Lobster 700 TV)

To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys (i.e. menu keys).
2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power button. Keep holding both soft keys.
3. After a while, black screen should show instructions asking user to press '0' key to reset to factory default.
4. Press '0' within the timeout period (which is very brief).
5. If instructions don't appear on the screen, repeat steps 1 to 4.


For the HTC Breeze (Orange SPV C700, I-Mate SP JAS, Swisscom XPA v1405, Dopod 595, HTC MTeoR, Qtek 8600)

To perform a hard reset
1. Release the battery and attached again to unit.
2. Hold two soft key together, then press power button till the display shows the restore screen
3. Press 0 to restore
4. Press 5 to boot
5. Device will reboot.


For the HTC Iris 100 (HTC S640)

To perform a hard reset
1. Turn on the unit
2. Press and hold the two soft keys and at the same time power down while holding the soft keys.
3. It will then ask you if you want to restore it.


For the HTC Polaris (HTC Touch Find, Dopod P860, O2 XDA Orbit 2, HTC Touch Cruise P3650)

To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold the GPS/MESSAGING and INTERNET EXPLORER buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
2. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the GPS/MESSAGING and INTERNET EXPLORER buttons


For the HTC Rhodium (AT&T Tilt 2 T7377, HTC Rhodium 300, Verizon Touch Pro2 XV6875, Sprint Touch Pro2 , T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 US / Wing II, T-Mobile MDA Vario V, HTC Touch Pro2 CDMA, HTC Touch Pro2 T7373)

To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see the warning screen.
2. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset Hard Reset


For the HTC Topaz (Dopod Touch Diamond 2, T-Mobile MDA Compact V, O2 Xda Diamond 2 ,HTC Touch Diamond2 T5353)

To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see warning/instruction screen.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.




For the HTC Maple (HTC S522, T-Mobile Dash 3G, HTC Snap S521)

To perform a hard reset
1. Remove the battery from the device to power the Dash 3G off.
2. Reinsert the battery, DO NOT power back on.
3. Press and hold the Volume Up button.
4. While continuing to hold Volume Up, press and hold the (red) Power/End button.
5. A multi-color screen (boot loader) will appear, continue to hold both keys.
6. The reset screen will appear (a grey screen with blue text).
7. Press Send to reset, then Send again when prompted to reboot the phone.
8. The device will reset and boot to the home screen.


For the HTC Willow (HTC Snap CDMA, Sprint HTC Snap S511)

To perform a hard reset
1. Remove the battery from the device to power the Dash 3G off.
2. Reinsert the battery, DO NOT power back on.
3. Press and hold the Volume Up button.
4. While continuing to hold Volume Up, press and hold the (red) Power/End button.

To perform a hard reset
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the HOME and BACK buttons, and then briefly press the END CALL/POWER button. The reset process will start after a few seconds.
2. Wait for the phone to finish the reset process and then press MENU.




For the Dell Axim (Dell x50 basic, x50 advance, x50v, x51, and x51v)

The reason's I (talontsi07) am adding this is...One of the best PDA's ever made, Just found out its actually made by HTC, and i own one :)
To perform a hard reset
1. Press the Power button to turn the Axim unit On.
2. Press and hold the Power button down while using the Axim stylus to press the Reset button at the same time.
3. Release the Power button and the Reset button. The To clear all data in the memory screen appears.
4. Press the Contacts button on the Axim to delete all of the data in the memory of the Axim handheld.
5. Press the Mail button on the Axim to cancel the operation without losing data.




For the HTC Blackstone (Dopod Touch HD, HTC Touch HD T8282)

To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see the reset screen.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.




For the SE Venus (Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a | Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 / X1i / X1c)

The reason this is being added is, HTC has build the hardware for this device, I (talontsi07) will add this to a separate category maybe something like other devices.

To perform a hard reset
1. While the phone is off -hold down the front left and right buttons on the X1 and insert your stylus into the soft reset hole all at the same time.
2. After i did this i was presented with a blue screen that told me to press R to reset and delete all my existing stuff. Then i had to callibrate the stylus and the same stuff the day you got it.

To perform a hard reset
1. remove the battery cover.
2. observe that by the USB port, there is a small indentation. This is the reset switch access.
3. Keep the slider closed.
4. power the phone on.
5. press the “talk” and “end” buttons; while holding them down, use the stylus to probe into the reset switch hole at a 45 degree angle to the major axis of the phone.
6. when you get to the “press enter to reset the phone” page, press the center dpad.
